A pitcher on the Ball State University baseball team was suspended after a police officer would not "give him a break."

According to the Ball State University police, Seth Lawrence Hobbs, 20, of Marseilles, Ill., was arrested at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of public intoxication and minor in possession of alcohol.

In an effort to snuff out second-hand smoke, Miami University enacted its on-campus smoking ban Aug. 1.

Miami's Board of Trustees originally approved the smoking ban proposal Sept. 14, 2007, with the 2008-09 school year the first to see the change.

With the smoking ban in effect just shy of a month, Miami President David Hodge said he has not heard anything negative thus far.

When Democratic nominee Barack Obama concluded his speech at Ball State University on April 12, the Illinois Senator proclaimed he wanted to turn Indiana blue this November.

Obama's words turned some heads. Indiana's traditionally conservative roots haven't classified it as a swing state since Lyndon Johnson won the 11 electoral votes for the Democrats in 1964.
