Kyle Thompson hated Northern Kentucky University - until he met Danny Miller.
In summer 2007, Thompson was working at the Party Source in Newport as a cashier. Miller came through the line and Thompson saw his NKU ID. He asked Miller if he was a professor.

The currently unused property containing the old Wal-Mart building on Locust Street may be housing new tenants, pending an agreement between Wal-Mart, the property's owner and a Dublin, Ohio-based construction company.
Oxford Economic Director Alan Kyger said that though Wal-Mart has moved its business to the College Corner Pike location, the company has a lease on its former property until 2019.

The Oxford Police Department (OPD) has a new way to collect on outstanding parking tickets with the introduction of the automatic license plate recognition system, the Mobile Plate Hunter-900 (MPH-900).
OPD Lt. Bob Holzworth said the department plans to use the system mainly to collect unpaid parking citations.

University police are investigating a gunshot reported at Callahan Hall, an off-campus dormitory for Northern Kentucky University students, just after 4 a.m. Nov. 12, according to an e-mail sent to faculty, staff and students by NKU officials.
University Police have secured the scene, according to NKU's Web site.
